Arrival airport transfers are not included. Guests must meet at the Costa Rica Marriott in San José (see Travel & Logistics for detailed information).

Our trip ends in Playa Hermosa. A complimentary departure transfer is included to both Liberia's LIR airport (30min) and San José's SJO airport (3 hrs). If you would like to join this transfer, your flight home should be scheduled to depart from LIR at 10:30am or later, or from SJO at 3:30pm or later (see Travel & Logistics).

Traveling with dietary restrictions or allergies can be a challenge, but we’re here to help. Prior to your departure, we’ll send you a questionnaire where you can inform us of any special dietary needs you have. Depending on the information you give us, we will work with our in-country partners to adjust menus and be aware of allergies and restrictions on the trip.

For solo travelers, there is a $1,000 single-supplement fee—paid at the time of booking to secure a private room. Note that single rooms are reserved for adults, or for children over the age of 13. Children between the ages of 6 and 13 must be in a room accompanied by at least one adult. If you would like us to pair you with a roommate, that option may be available upon checkout—these spots are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

This adventure will require intermittent effort throughout and you should have an average amount of energy to participate. Activities will include walking medium distances over uneven terrain and involving steps; river rafting; horseback riding, and zip lining.

Some locations could present challenges to persons with special needs. Neither Modern Adventure nor any of its suppliers may physically lift or assist travelers onto transportation or on daily activities. If you have questions or concerns about particular activities or trip aspects, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.

You may cancel on or before August 17, 2021 and receive a full refund minus a $500 per-person service fee. If you cancel on or after August 18, 2021, there is a 50% cancellation fee. On or after October 16, 2021 there is a 100% cancellation fee.

We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance as we are not able to make exceptions to this policy in cases family/medical emergency or cases of the trip being canceled (see our Terms and Conditions for full details).
